If the body were to bring a lawsuit against the soul for all the pains and abuses it has endured through life, and I were the judge, I would gladly condemn the soul: it has partly ruined the body through neglect and dissolved it in drunken excesses, and partly torn it apart through its passion for pleasure—just as one would blame a man who mistreats a faulty tool or vessel through careless use
