Democritus

Democritus of Abdera (c. 460–370 BCE) was a Presocratic Greek philosopher best known for developing an atomistic theory of reality. He held that everything consists of indivisible atoms moving through the void. A wide-ranging and systematic thinker, he also wrote on ethics, advocating a life of moderation, clarity of mind, and cheerful serenity.
